Frequently asked questions

On this page we answer some questions that you may have. If the answers here do not provide you with enough information, please visit our contact page and get in touch directly. We are always happy to help.

How do I place a project with you?

* Just head to our contact page, describe the project you would like us to work on and we will get back to you to discuss the best way forward.

Does HPES proofread and edit essays written by young people at school, college or university?

No. Examination boards have very strict rules about how much help students can get with their writing. Only teachers and lecturers have the oversight of a student's written work and will have seen earlier drafts. In that way they can guarantee the writing is entirely the student's work. For that reason we do not accept projects that contribute to school pupils' or students' assessments.

Can I place an order by phone?

* Please use our email address or online form for initial contact - though we may well have the chance to talk on the phone after that.

How do I know HPES provides a high quality of work?

* You can send us a short sample (half a page or so) to edit, free of charge, and then make your decision about proceeding to  us taking on your full project.

How do I pay for my project?

* After the project is complete we will send you an invoice, which will include full payment advice.

How will I see what changes HPES had made or suggests in my document?

* We use Microsoft Word as our default software for editing. We will send you two versions of your document after we have completed our work. One will 'show tracked changes' so you can see all of the edits and suggestions, and also a 'clean' version with all the changes made, for your convenience.

Is there a minimum size for a project?

* No - we will undertake projects of any size, depending on our capacity at any given time. Your project could be a short brochure or leaflet, or a lengthy novel!

How will I know how my project is going?

* We will keep in touch so you will know how things are progressing. But feel free to get in touch at any time using our email address on the contact page.
